Obituary for Robert Nelon
MILL SPRING – Robert Wayne Nelon, 58, of Mill Spring, passed away Thursday, November 23, 2023, at Spartanburg Medical Center.
Born in Henderson County, he was the son of Dianne Price Mauney (Charles) of Inman and the late Sidney Grant Nelon.
Robert was a Tryon High School graduate and was employed by Steve’s Gulf Station in Tryon before joining the U.S. Army. For the last 10 years, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing, spending time with his two sons and helping the community.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jeff Nelon.
Surviving in addition to his mother is his fiancé, Terry Bartlett of Mill Spring; two sons, Scott Nelon (Olivia) of Mill Spring and Dillon Nelon (Catalina) of Forest City; two grandchildren, Gabe and Remi; one brother, Steve Nelon (Catherine) of Tryon; one nephew, Tucker Nelon of Tryon.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbus with military rites.
