Obituary for Frances Phillips
Polk County, NC—Frances Nodine Phillips, 90, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, March 29, 2024. She is now rejoicing with her Lord and Savior and family members that went before her.
Frances was the daughter of the late Andrew Joseph and Elizabeth Jones Nodine. She was a graduate of Mill Spring High School and lived in Polk County the majority of her life. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Frances always found great happiness in taking care of others. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church in Columbus, NC. Frances was the last surviving sibling of thirteen children.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Jack Milton Phillips.
Surviving are two sons, Steve Milton Phillips (Marian) of Charlotte, NC and Kevin Winslow Phillips (Chris) of York, SC; five grandsons, Michael Phillips (Sarah), Joseph Phillips (Laura), Seth Phillips (Katie), Justin Phillips (Samantha), Matthew Phillips (Mallory Pharr) and eight great grandchildren, Keegan, Mary Katherine, Noah, Isla, Mason, Maggie, Ginny, and Emery.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbus, NC with Reverend Randall Wood and Brother William Mills officiating.
The family will greet friends at the cemetery following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Midway Baptist Church, PO Box 679, Columbus, NC 28722 or to a Hospice of your choice.
